Carry may turn out to be a experience we won't forget... what with all the newbies getting their handgun license.. who will decide to open carry after only 4 hours & 50 rounds fired on a range as their only experience with a firearm.

The first hour of every handgun class I ever took or taught is the Laws of Firearm Safety.
Anybody who can't focus enough to grasp those 4 simple laws (which include never pointing a gun at anything you're not willing to destroy) in an hour
is not only unsafe with a gun, but should not be driving or handling power tools.

If they are boneheaded enough to ignore you for that hour, making it 100 hours is not going to change a thing. You would not believe some of the incredibly stupid things troops have done with guns after Army training and the dutiful supervision of their platoon Sgt.

The idea that you can cure stupid by making them sit in class longer simply does not work in the real world. I have wasted many hours teaching "remedial math" (5th grade arithmetic) to so-called jr college students who can't read or add because they sat and did nothing all through grade and high school, and who sit and REFUSE to do anything in a remedial class.
Some never get the message.
