We used to see lots of ringnecks at our spots, but over the last 2-3 years we see a lot less. Good thing is those numbers have been replaced with mallards whereas we used to not see hardly any.

My favorite duck ponds have been frozen solid for a week now.

Overall this year has been terrible, but looking forward to a two day field hunt this weekend in western OK.

I much prefer a duck hunt over cut milo, we've not field hunted one time this year. Just no birds around in their usual places for some reason. Good luck on your field hunts!!!!

Buddy in Stillwater said one pond is open and the another has two holes started. Ducks on the open one. See how the weather plays out yet but I'm hoping I might squeeze another weekend in before close. Half my ponds close the 21st. The other half close the 28th. I'm right on that retarded line in Payne county. I swear waterfowl zones are the most gerrymandered cluster in every state I have seen!
