Norman has/had an antigun police Chief not that long ago. I remember when he went to D.C. to speak/participate in a conference held by an anti-gun group. It got a yawn from the Norman peeps.

Not true. There are several good people here that try. The issue is OU and their liberal president and the money that flow out of that school. They buy up real estate around Norman at higher prices than what the market says its worth. They buy properties out from under full offers the private sector pays.

You can't buy for "more than the market says it's worth;" if somebody is willing to pay more, then it's worth more by definition. The other (potential) buyers just weren't willing to pay best market value.
