I always carry a tiny little lock-blade,,,
It's cheap and Chinese made,,,
But it's very very sharp.
I carry a concealed handgun most of the time,,,
But this little 1.5" cutter is with me always,,,
When I am in the Wal Mart parking lot,,,
Or any parking lot for that matter,,,
It's in my hand and open.
One not much different from this one,,,
Saved me a royal @$$-whipping one night,,,
I was jumped leaving a Loews store late in the evening,,,
Having it in my hand and open is what turned the tide and saved me.
I've always heard that there's nothing more dangerous than a dull knife, so that's all I carry--deadly dull blades.
I usually carry three or four knives; I have a tiny old Victorinox with knife, file, and scissors on my work key ring, a Kershaw Chill and/or Cryo, and a tiny Boker on my truck key ring. The Victorinox is still razor sharp with its factory edge, the Kershaws still have decent edges, but that Boker has never had a decent edge, and is too short to be a good butter knife, though it's ok for opening boxes and letters.
