Whats it worth?

Springfield 1911, painted OD green (claims it's duracoat), dovetailed slide with cheap red dot installed. Bull barrel, full length guide rod, black basic pachmyer grips.

Gun looks like it's been raced pretty heavily and duracoat is heavily nicked.

He wants $600, but it seems about twice what it's worth based beat up finish and perceived round count.

You can buy a new Springfield 1911 for a little more, then you know what your getting.

You can by a Mil-Spec for that, also a Ruger.

It's not worth $600. Messed up, not enhanced in my opinion, like it is the value is down. If it were original and had the box it would be worth that money. Anyway, there's a SS SA in the classifieds listed for $650...box and all the goodies.

Thats kinda what I thought too. The owner seems to think he's added value by doing all that crap to it and painting it.

I chose to pass.

My first thought, without pics, was $250 and most likely PASS regardless of price.

You were right to pass on this one. It is interesting that people do "custom" things to their guns and think that it adds value. I don't get it. ????

Certain custom things, like tritium sights from a proven manufacturer can add value.
