What's This "Nest"

This is about 10 yards behind one of my cameras, and I've been wondering what made it. There have been others like it over the years but never this "fresh".

Yeah, looks like rat to me. Hard to tell how big the nest is from the pic. I have a lot of osage orange trees on the place. The rats usually build their nests where three or four of the trunks come up in one place between all of the trunks.
it can be 5' across.
That being said, I've never seen as many badgers as this year in all of my years. Thick this year.

I've seen big bobcats hide a kill that way. Had a beaver in a leg hold one time. Got there and just blood and a empty trap with cat tracks all in the mud. About 20 yards away was a pile a lot like that. At the bottom was my half eaten beaver.

My Dad always told me nest like this were made by porcupines, but I thought he was joking. I have seen porcupines, badgers, and bobcats at this camera location though.
