Love the dial on that watch!

And I did a little more work on the Bellmatic I previously restored. The original case had quite a lot of rust. I was able to get it all removed, but the material loss from that rust was unrepairable. I had another original Bellmatic case that was actually a year and a half older, from 1971, but this one did not have any rust issues. I did a restoration on the case, buffed the original crystal, and then installed the movement into the newly prepped case.

I was also able to sort out an original set of the correct hands, since those on the original watch were not reusable.

I’ve still got the original case, and if I ever decide to sell the watch I will offer it to the buyer in its original configuration, or as it sits now. For now though I’m going to keep it as is because this case is a bit more comfortable, as well as being in much better condition. The strap is the only issue now. The original case required an 18mm strap, while this other one needs a 19mm. I just kept the 18mm on there for now. Not a big deal though.
