I hunted quail in Kingman, KS this past Thursday. From Wichita to Kingman, I probably saw 100k geese on the wheat. No ducks to be found until I was heading home. From Anthony, KS to Enid, every puddle had some green. One highway side pond near Wakita had at least 100 mallards!
Pheasants and quail are good up in KS. My son brought me a couple roosters yesterday. They are marinating in some garlic and herb as we speak.
I’ve kicked up a couple decent coveys on my lease this year. First time for that in years.
Another stripes and plaid kinda day.
