I'm not defending euro trash fashion, but wearing that stuff on cold days outside is surprisingly effective.

I think I read somewhere that when William Shatner was making that Start Trek movie with Patrick Stewart, that Stewart was being "eaten up" from all the saddle riding and Shatner told him to get some panty hose and wear them under his costume. In the 70s I tried them out under my work clothes a few times when the wind chill was about -20 degrees. I finally gave up the idea and bought a snow suit, it was a lot more comfortable and easier to deal with. And who ever made the remark about hairy legs is right, they look ridiculous with all that hair poking through the hose. And Broadway Joe got paid VERY well for that commercial.
