Limit to a single Constitutional issue?
I think this needs to be brought to the top, sounds like a way to get the GOP back on track.

The GOP Precinct committeemen decide what their own planks are. There can be as few or as many planks as the committee decides. There is no limit to the number of Constitutional matters the precinct committee decides to take to the County Convention.

Just be sure you verify your precinct meeting date, location and time, since the 7:00PM tomorrow night is only a State GOP party suggestion and the OKGOP website isn't always accurate. The County GOP sets their own meetings and conventions. The County convention could be combined with the precinct meeting, or the County convention could be held at a later date, as the committee establishes. A quorum can call a convention any time they want to elect officers, decide rules, form planks, field and support candidates, etc.

Of course, the GOP Precinct planks and other precinct business is whatever the precinct committee decides. There can be none to pages of planks as the precinct committeemen determine and the precinct committeemen should work to push their planks, candidates, etc and ally with like-minded districts, working toward State. The precinct meeting form has a place for precinct planks, or just attach pages as necessary. Having a good set of planks prepared for the precinct meeting is very helpful. Each succeeding convention will vote to combine planks, decide the rules, elect leadership and support good candidates.

Good info. I confirmed my particular precinct meeting time and place, and have my GOP voter registration card in my wallet! :)

Well I went to my county's precinct delegate meeting tonight and I'm now the Rogers County Precinct 6 Chairman and delegate to the county convention. I also put in for a seat on the platform committee. I'll definitely be attending the delegation dinner in Tulsa, county delegate convention and hopefully, the state convention.

I figured I could sit at home on my keyboard, all depressed and angry about the state of the political process and the GOP itself, or I could put on my big boy pants and go to work. :anyone:

This is remarkably similar to my experience last night, and my sentiments about going. My wife and I went and ended up precinct Chair, co-Chair, and county convention delegates. They ran the county convention immediately after the precinct meeting, so we did the votes there and I put in for a seat on the platform committee, too. They called it the regulations committee, but said it was with regard to shaping the platform, so I can only think they are one in the same. I hope that I get on. I'd like to see the party molded so that it is more about liberty than anything else.

Just went and spoke with her.

The Muskogee County Precincts meeting will be held at the Muskogee Civic Center, Tomorrow, 9am. As of now I am planning on going.

I better see some of you other Muskogee County OSA'ers there!

I was told at last night's meeting that there are an additional 5 days after the precinct meeting to express your desire to be a precinct officer and/or delegate in writing to the county GOP chairperson. For Rogers County, the Chairperson is Linda Lepak and she can be reached at [email protected]

Check with your county chair and see if they have a similar setup. You may be able to get in on the action without attending the meeting, but you would need to be at the county and state conventions to cast votes and have your platform points heard!
