Why is the "Oklahoma River" dry?

Noticed recently that at least the lower segment is dry. In the past months I have noticed this section being drained more than once.

I recall when this complex was being built that one official said it would be stocked with fish. Obviously thay can't do that and keep draining it from time to time.

Seems like a waste of water given the puny Canadian River flow these days.

Anybody know what the deal is?

If you head south bound you can see the mini damn they built, heading north just makes the boat house look like an odd idea to invest in!

Oklahoma City is the capital of water waste. They might be wishing they conserve a little more if the drought continues.
