I hit the range at Lex first thing this a.m....to put some kind of zero on my 3+ year old, but never fired, Remmy 700 SPS.

Looks like they had a pretty significant fire down that way recently. Almost appeared that it started at the range area.

Anyone got the scoop on it?

There have been several fires over there (between Lex and Slaughterville) over the last few weeks. I don't know if they were wildfires or not; someone said they were controlled burns for cedar eradication, but I didn't get any confirmation. I was looking from US77, so I didn't get particularly close, but they looked like big fires with huge smoke clouds; given the lack of news coverage, I'm thinking controlled burns is probably the most likely explanation. One of them I could see from west of I35 (north Purcell area).
