We caught one on surveillance tape a couple of weeks ago, as it casually walked near the parking lot of the casino I work at, in Thackerville Oklahoma. Our location backs right up to the Love Valley WMA. There is absolutely no doubt that it was a mountain lion. Just last week at about 9 in the morning, something chased a large bobcat up a tree, in the location where the mountain lion entered the tree line. The bobcat went as far up the tree as the limbs would hold it, and didn't come down until our security vehicle approached. I went to my truck to get my binoculars for a better view, so I know it wasn't dogs that put the bobcat up the tree.

Several years ago, I was at Buffalo Mountain in Talahina, and one of the hang glider pilots I know, told me about flying up and down the ridge and observing a mountain lion out sunning on a large rock as he passed over it multiple times.

We had one that roamed around my parent's place in Piedmont for a few years. I caught the first sight of it when I was about 15 at the lake behind their house. It was on the other side and jumped out of some trees and started stalking a dog. Scared the poo right out of me. My parents thought I was joking. A few nights later, the neighbors Irish Wolfhound ended up dead and badly dismembered in their back yard. Another week, another neighbor opened her front door to find the kitty munching happily on her chickens in the yard. After a while, everyone quit seeing it. I believe their territory is rather large, so it may have found new things to eat elsewhere and wandered off.

This is my buddy's BIL. He's a GW in Grady county currently. Hard to deny they're here with this kind of evidence from a few years ago. This one was hit by a car in Minco.

Some friends and I picked up a hunting lease in Caddo county this season. The land owner told us there are mountain lions that frequent his property. We saw tracks while scouting, but haven't seen any lions.

I thought a couple of years ago a mountain lion showed up in north Tulsa it was on the news showing them dart the lion. It was funny because all those people standing around watching started running away down the street when they shot the cat.
A friend sent me pictures of cat tracks almost as big as his hand on the bank of a pond south of Muskogee.

On opening day, I was sitting near a creek and the intersection of two deer trails. I watched three does come down to the creek, and I was waiting for them to get into a spot with a good line of sight that wasn't on the creek (not fun pulling a fully-submerged deer out of a creek, btdt) - hoping they'd cross. Right as they got about 15ft from the creek and about 20 yards from me, I heard a loud cat roar, a splash, and they took off the way they came with something in the grass behind them. I don't know if it was a mountain lion or a big bobcat or what, but I came really close to needing a new pair of shorts when I heard that sound that close.
