Again, I buy ammo whenever I can - not because of the political climate or the impending financial collapse, but because it's only going to get more expensive. Pay less now, or pay more later and wished you had bought more "back then".

But yes, the run started several months ago.

I was at WM the other day and was going to pick up a box of .45 to go to the range with, it was $19.99 a box! I shot my gun before and I'm sure it still works, so I had to pass it up this time.

Around the 23rd of this month is when Obama & Hillary Clinton are suppose to act on the U.N. Small Arms treaty. When that crap hits the fan and the general public gets wind of the possibility of gun registration and eventual confiscation.. you will see real hoarding of ammo & weapons begin! If Obama and his administration sell us out to the U.N., I can see a honest to goodness shooting Civil War here in the states if they try gun confiscation.

I think the first move will be a executive order imposing a huge tax on ammunition! There has also been talk of the government requiring manufacturers to put a additive in all gun powder used for civillian ammunition that reduces the shelf life to about 6 months to 1 yr. That way the public can't hoard ammo.

The senate had to ratify any treaty by a 2/3 margin. I don't think any Rs or many Ds are willing to give up their seat for the sake of the UNs gun control desires.

I don't think Barry wants the fallout from pissing off the gun owners in this country. Political power would vanish over night.

Question: Will there be a run on gun and ammo purchases this November?

Answer: Yes, by hoarders and prepers, and people wanting to make money off them.

There will be threads popping up about how people will not do business with them, example (Spikes), then after the heat cools down people will buy their products and say good things about them, example (Spikes). People have short memories.

Those threads are started by people that have a lot of wind and time on their hands and nothing to do. There is a case that comes to mind, where a very well known person on this forum went on and on about people raising their prices during times like these. He purchased a Colt 6920, then waited and sold it at a very high price taking advantage of the buyer, just like he was jumping on others for doing the same thing. No, I will not give you his name, I am just using him as an example, because he is not the only one, there are many that did the same thing.

My feelings on the subject, don't fall into this frame of mind. The people creating this is wanting you to get worried and buy, buy, buy. I found that from last time, it was a chain reaction. Some of the manufactures, go up on their price, distributers have to go up on theirs to keep in business, and dealers have to do the same to stay in business, because the cost to them has risen. This all comes about because people are worried about, what if?

My recommendation, if it is higher than what you want to pay, wait until after December and the prices will start a slow decline. Remember what come first, milk for the baby, a home to live in, and transportation to and from work. Don't get caught up in a frenzy and loose sight of what is important.

Between the election, and local PD hiring ammo is already blown out in most stores. The no name brands are in stock, in a pinch they will work though.

I haven't forgot what certain vendors did. In fact I remember a few here claiming their cost had gone up, when you had other reputable dealers saying their cost had not. Eric @ OPS now at 2A will always have my business because he refused to jack up prices because of hype.

Nothing like a post from someone who uses people's fears as a marketing tactic to make sales. Red Dawn this, and Zombie that.
