I left the in-laws in SWOKC at 3:45 for work and the roads were just fine. Not even half an inch of snow and very little ice anywhere except on vehicles. Hopefully it'll be the same way when I get off of work tonight at midnight.

So much for the blizzard of 2012 as reported by Mike Morgan and the continous coverage starting at 0400. Good Lord, when is this stupidity going to stop.

I've spent a LOT of time east of Cleveland in the snow belt. The hot weather chick gets 5 minutes to say its going to snow and drive carefully.
Thats it!
We don't need 24/7 coverage of reporters with their little rulers giving reports of snow depths.

I just wish we had ANYTHING to show for all the hype this storm got. It was a bit slick this morning. Probably made the Taurus driver crap his britches on the way to my in laws. Hit a small patch of ice on a very small bridge and my Titan went sideways for a split second. Long as we don't have anymore ice I am fine. Bring on the snow!

We left Lawton about 12:15 headed for a cousin's place down close to the Red River. When we left town it was snowing hard enough that you couldn't see more than 200 yards down I-44. Winds at 20-30 mph didn't help as the blowing snow just made it that much harder to see where we were going. I had to trudge through a drift 6 inches deep in the driveway. I had all the snow I could stand.
