Tesla and Sir Browning would have made one heck of a firearm together.

Hmmm...let's see, electricity and firearms. What could we come up with?

I imagine some of the younger folks on here don't even realize the effect the he has had in firearm development. Almost all the semi-auto firearms today wouldn't be here without him.

Hardly...

Someone else would have stepped in and invented what JMB did. Possibly done a better job possibly not.

Regardless we'd still have lever guns, machine guns, semi-auto pistols and everything else he invented they just wouldn't have been invented by JMB.

The feed/delinker mechanism was new and an amazing feat of engineering

The DAFD2000-1 Feeder/Delinker is the single most important upgrade to any GAU-2B/M134. Its function is to delink ammunition, then feed it to the gun. On General Electric Miniguns this job was performed by the MAU-56. While similar in appearance to the Dillon Feeder/Delinker, the MAU-56 suffers from several shortcomings, making the system susceptible to failure. In fact, failures encountered during the normal operation of the MAU-56 often lead to a complete overhaul.

Even so, its still 19th century tech with electricity.

And we also would have had the assembly line without Henry Ford and peanut butter without G.W. Carver, but we certainly wouldn't be where we are today had it not been for them.

I tend to believe he was true genius with firearms - automatics yes - but, I still marvel everytime I see an 1886 Winchester. Maybe I'm not as smart as the rest of you. How did he get that much movement thru that little hole? He He!

I think we have all asked that question at least once:wave:

someone make this a sig line!!!!

browning changed the firearms industry more that any other single figure ever in the history of firearms.

ford did not invent the assembly line(ransom olds) or interchangeable parts(eli whitney) or the automobile (karl benz), he simply put the ideas together. he was a genius no less and changed history.

however browning had an amazing amount of original and modified designs, many of which are still in use today and common place, and several designs were completed by his sons or FN.
