So I picked up a model 742 to replace one I lost several years ago... Any opinions on value. Scope is a Bsa stealth with adjustable parallax 4/16 of I remember right.

Nice looking rifle. With the scope, my thoughts are $400-500. Did you have to sell you bed sheets to buy it? LOL just kidding of course.

Of the 742s I have shot (.30-06, .308, .243) all were very dependable and accurate enough to hit what I was shooting at. Never owned one personally but, I do like them. Used ones are selling for $300 - $350.

I've had one. I think I paid $300 something for mine from a pawnshop in tulsa years ago. My uncle had one and took a few deer with it. They are good guns.
