My old gun story.
I recently got my late dad’s old Browning Challenger I pistol, but it was rusted and pitted from his taking that 22 pistol on his center console boat, out in the ocean, (we’ll discuss the fallacy of 22 pistols on the open seas to ward off drug running pirates on another day) … I wanted to keep the old gun and, one day, pass to my kids/grandkids, so I had a gun shop strip all metal then Cerakote, leaving the pitting as “character”, gunsmith used a dark mix of colors that looks like a good blueing job from a distance. Wood was left alone- I couldn’t be more pleased, stopped the rust, prevented future rust, still has character, good to go!
