Taking my 11yo daughter this weekend. Ive been bow hunting this week in the nw part of the state..last couple of days movement has been good after 6:00 in the evening. Mornings have tailed off quick. Have seen some nice 140"ish bucks that might just get some .243 lead slung there way.

You guys that are using .223.....what load are you shooting? I know .223 is light...but my daughter loves shooting it. She is a little recoil shy w the 243. I saw wolly world had some win razorback xt....more of a hog load. 64 gr i think.

223 Winchester Ranger LE ammo in 64 gr. here. Six deer have fallen to that round and the furthest any ran was about 40 yds. My 10 year old took a mature buck with it last year and that sold me on it.

Turkey and deer this morning. ...doe came from the only 2 places we couldn't get a shot. Great hunt be back out tonight.
