Got my first 1911 Saturday. Curious as to recommended accessories for it. I want to keep it as bone stock GI as possible. Need recommendations for magazines, grips (preferably checkered wood), and holsters.

Any suggestions, gentlemen?

ahah. Okay then, what mags?
I'm thinking MecGar seven rounders. Any experience with these?
and holster recommendations?
I'm thinking one of the $20 dollar bladetechs from cheaper than dirt until I can get the funds for a decent quality leather holster.

Put some rounds down range, then figure out what you like and don't like about the pistol. Maybe make the pistol more comfortable for yourself if it isn't already perfect(which 1911s tend to be). I just ordered an extended slide stop for my Kimber Custom 2. Nothing crazy, just convenient and comfortable.

Holster?? Pacific Canvas and Leather. http://www.pacificcanvasandleather.com/

Thanks for the link, Leighton. My agency is fixin' to acquire some old "retired" 1911s from the Homeland Security Office and I'm gonna get one. :woohoo1:

I thought about fixing it up with a beavertail, slotted hammer, Videcki trigger, yaddida, yaddida, yaddida, but I think I'll just keep it stock GI and buy a 1916 holster and canvas double mag pouch for it...just for old time's sake. :thumb:
