I fall into the Gen X timeframe, but always thought it was B.S.

I claim no responsibility for "ruining" the OWS generation, but I would love to bring some ruin down on them right now.

I'm with you in this, I work for what I have and have no desire to get everything for free! I would like to teach some of the OWS crowd what it means to have a real workin job and not get **** handed to them... And on top of that when they screw up they are patted on the head and told it is okay... Wrong here is how to fix it and get working on it....

A serious question, not trying to stir any pots.

Why are all of you so angry at these protestors? Did they crap in your yard? Are they chasing you kids around with sticks? Did they kick your dog? Does thier action affect any of you personally? I don't understand the outrage towards fellow Americans exercising thier right to protest. I don't have a dog in this fight, I could care less if they want to hang out in a park and not shower. Why get your panties in a bunch? I'm just curious.

What has my 'panties in a bunch' is not the act of protesting, but the message, goal and methods of the protesters. Educate yourself about the Occupy movement. Their stated goal is a crashing of the system and bringing an end to capitalism...with a strong underlying anti-American presence. Their methods are disgusting and not in keeping with the intent of peaceful/lawful protests. Their 'camps' are filled with filth, violence, drug use, and sex crimes. Destruction/denial of both public and private property appears to be common place.

How's that?

Now they are saying that they will burn down New York. That will put an end to them. They did not crap in my yard, but they crapped on the American flag. That told me all I needed to know about them.

that one’s not on the gen-xers, but the baby boomers; that is a symptom of cultural marxism, which was swallowed hook, line, and sinker by the bb generation in the 60s. They took it and ran with it, and indoctrinated the next couple of generations with that cancer.

^^^^^^ this!

I love it when I get an "educate yourself" anwser. The question is what do they do to PERSONALLY affect you that makes you so mad? Why so many of you want to physically harm folks you've never met? If they are as stupid as all of you allude, why not ignore them? Like I said, I don't care one way or another, but I don't understand the absolute rage some of you have shown towards other Americans. Do you hate everyone that has a different opinion than yours?

You did everything you were told, but combating unemployment by wanting to be self-sufficient working a lesser (dare I say menial) job would be shameful by society's standards. But, being unemployed is also considered shameful by society's standards.

On the other hand, though, I don't dare blame anyone else. I was the meathead that sought after a career field that was in decline. My own damn fault. For the time being, I'm fine working in food-service and retail, and I'll use my contacts and networking skills to further my life goals.

The educate yourself comment was made in all seriousness and was only a part, not the whole of, my answer. When you read about and dig into the forces behind the occupy movement one can not help but feel threatened on a personal level (anti-capitalism, anti-Americanism etc...). I don't have to be raped to be offended personally by rapists. I do not have to be mugged to not wish success to muggers. I do not have to lose a loved one to murder in order to actively campaign against murderers. Likewise, I don't have to be trapped in the middle of Oakland or NYC in order to be personally vested in the defeat of the ideas these people are protesting for.

I don't hate American's for protesting. I hate Americans who protest for the end of America at the urging of and with the support of non-Americans.

Now turn it around, why are you so complacent and indifferent to the threat posed by the ideas of the Occupy crowd? Maybe you don't see them as a threat I guess. If not, that's fine, so be it. I'm not trying to convince you, you asked.

Does anyone believe that there is more to being an American than just being born in the United States? Maybe a belief in something that you cant see or touch. But a belief in a idea of equal opportunity and freedom for everyone. If the occupy people want to change this country so much, they need to go sample that life in some of the other countries that are already in condition that they're currently seeking to turn ours into.

We've all just been spoon fed since we were young that we're capable of making millions of dollars, or starting our own business or whatever, but truth is, most of us young people should just be happy having enough income to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.

Atta boy, get nice and complacent. I don't make 6 figures right now, but I promised myself that I would one day and I ain't just happy to have the job I have. It's called drive, do you have it? I am always looking for ways to grow my income. I will always want more, and I love bacon, it's the American way.
