I probably won't do much open carry if this passes, but I will be thankful that my right to do so has been affirmed.
THIS......concealed is for a reason........because I dont want ...everyone ...to know I am armed.
Full size 1911 just takes an extra shirt. When its hot I dont want the shirt ...or the extra weight ..G30

A relatively positive editorial in the TW this morning (2/25):

http://www.tulsaworld.com/opinion/article.aspx?subjectid=61&articleid=20120225_61_A18_Ameasu901659

The only place the editorial writer really goes off the rails is the closing paragraph:
So if it's preordained that Oklahoma will become an open-carry state, let's at least adopt some sound and responsible requirements to go along with that privilege. One requirement should be holsters with snap-down covers to reduce chances of a gun falling out or being drawn unintentionally.

Thoughts??

Because if gravity ever begins to pull upward instead of downward my gun might fall out, also for those days when my arm goes spastic and reaches for the gun without my brain knowing it, unintentionally drawing my weapon...just stupid

Call me paranoid, but I see it as the libs taking an opportunity to try and regulate ALL holsters in OK, I mean why only regulate open carry holsters, don't you think conceal carry holsters will be next?
Just fair and reasonable regulation of holsters, nothing to see here, move on....it's the price you pay for wanting your silly open-carry.
soon to be followed by fair and reasonable "safety devices on guns", only non-lead ammo, etc etc.

One way to look at this is as a last ditch attempt by the libs to get some Hay out of a losing battle, for them, while feverishly working behind the scenes to kill the bill.

Another way to look at it is that they are setting the stage up for blocking the bill downstream.
Mildly Paranoid Prediction: if this makes it to the Governor by some miracle, some folks whose job security depends on the rich oligarchy of the state will be called on to pontificate on the "public safety implications" and will probably subscribe to the "safe holster" theory or some such. This article may just be setting the stage for that...kinda like George stephen...op....ulos asking about contraception in the republican pres debates WAY before they become a public issue. You think he was given talking points by the White House?

Whats the difference between SB1733 and HB2522 that's being heard Wednesday morning?

And Rep. Enns' casual exposure bill, HB2416? What is a 'casual exposure'? If it has anything to do with droopy britches and is against it I hope it passes! :smack:
