Wow, I didn't read any of that wall of text, but I had to go back and find this line after reading your post because this is a pet peeve of mine.

I hope your 8th grade history teacher was fired.

I believe you can see Paul Ryans father in the fist picture. He's the guy standing on the right under the right flag.

I voted for Romney, but I felt like I needed a shower after. I only voted for Romney because I couldn't stomach not voting at all. If there had been another option, I would have voted that way.

Ridge- If that's your only response, then I will take it. Some of the other places I post on automatically post when you hit "enter" so I forget to do so here on occasion. Sorry for the hard read.

A shower wont clean your consience(sp). That always kills me when someone votes and says this kinda stuff. You shoulda listened to your conscince(sp) and voted for Obama. If for no other reason than to send a message to the GOP. The reason you felt like you needed a shower is because you knew better than to cast a vote for Romney.

Ridge, the picture of the little girl walking to school in Little Rock, Arkansas is one of the iconic images from the '60s. If you are interested in this era in general, and the Little Rock issue in particular, you owe it to yourself to read the book "Warriors Don't Cry."

I've read a lot about this era and know a bit about Central and what happened re: that girl later in life, but I've never read this. Thanks.

And yeah, that's right up there with Mary Ann Vecchio, Nguyen Ngoc Loan, Tank Man, Thich Quang Duc, etc. on the list of about 10 most compelling pieces of photojournalism.

My feelings hurt? No. Just a bit confused on trying to determine which answers are serious and which are in jest. It's a process trying to figure out the different personalities here. I'll get it figured out eventually. :)

just when you think you have it all figured out, people start changing their avatars and then things really get messy.
