My feelings hurt? No. Just a bit confused on trying to determine which answers are serious and which are in jest. It's a process trying to figure out the different personalities here. I'll get it figured out eventually. :)

Yeah, its a learning process. But, keep in mind the ninja mantra.....Best place to hide is wide open. What could be, can't be.
Is he a lib, or a correct thinking individual?

just when you think you have it all figured out, people start changing their avatars and then things really get messy.

I'll keep that in mind and make sure not to change mine. :)

Back to the topic on hand, it's likely that any reply from the White House on any petition will be, "No". In the historical context, I don't recall the colonies petitioning King George to secede from his rule. They simply declared their independence and dealt with the aftermath of war. It was a gamble and they won. Who knows how our southern neighbor would fair.

Only the fellas that lean left have personalities. The righties are boring drones.

JB Books leads the leftys. The "12th Imam" leads the dancing monkee's.

Wow, I didn't read any of that wall of text, but I had to go back and find this line after reading your post because this is a pet peeve of mine.

I hope your 8th grade history teacher was fired.

Ridge, you are smart guy and I appreciate most of your posts, but I will disagree with you there. I believe we are more divided now than in the history of the United States. What sets this time apart from from any other time is the sheer number of issues that are clearly dividing the people. Race, the economy, socialism/capitalism, federal/state control, healthcar, welfare, all of these topics have become spark points ready to kick off a fire, all at the same time. The 60s got ugly, but I think that the times we live in right now will be worse than any of us imagine. We are headed towards a cliff, the dollar will collapse, likely within the next 12-18 months. Then all hell is going to break loose. You think Kent State was bad? Just wait till your neighbor doesn't have any food.

Well, we were pretty divided back in 1861, '62, '63, '64, and '65.

And I don't pretend to know the history of the country as well as many others, but I know a bit. You may well know the 60s far better than I, and you likely do, but that doesn't change what I see and hear everyday. The people just are not quite riled up to a frenzy yet.
