This is the type of resolution you get with high end sonar and side scan.
Note the fish around the tree limbs in the first, and the top of a building in the second.
Locating a vehicle would be child's play.

Locating a vehicle would be child's play.

It would depend on the bottom contour, how the vehicle was sitting on the bottom, type of substrate, etc. In a steep-sided lake with gullies and other drastic changes in contour, it might be hard to locate a car nestled in a ravine. The pictures of the area surrounding that part of Foss Lake seem to show a gradual slope, in which case the car probably would stick out like a sore thumb in a side-scan image.

They need to bring that new fangeled device over to Fort Gibson Dam, I have an old friend that swears they have catfish the size of Volkswagens on the lake side...

The OP's story is very interesting. I wonder how rusty the camaro is? They bring good money.

I did go back and look, but it looks like the resurrection tore the rear of the car off, but fresh water does not corrode like salt water. Very interesting story though.
