Thanks for the information, it may indeed be a miss communication. I was thinking about just going out and buying one in a 308. How much were they going for at Big Boys

Well thanks for all the info. I think I am just going to go and get a ar10 in 308. I will keep the 243 to bust some cats and coyotes with, and save the 308 for the hog hunting days/nights. (I have a ranch in Texas where it is legal to hunt hogs at night) I must admit it sounded a little too good to be true after talking to the gunsmith. Thanks again.

I received advice from a "gunsmith" at Gunworld which was actively dangerous. Had to do with substututing Winchester 9 x 23 for Largo 9x23 ammo in a Star Modelo Super. This is begging for a "kaboom" since the Winchester ammo is about 20,000 psi hotter than the Largo ammo.

If you do business with these people, no one will have any sympathy for what happens to you. They are an embarrassment to the rest of the gun sellers in the OKC area.

A friend of mine has a contact that can rebore barrels. He is about to have a .416 bored to something a good bit bigger. If you are interested in getting the name, PM me and I'll see if I can get it. As I recall, the guy has a fairly long backlog of orders.

I agree with the others who have suggested either another barrel or another gun, particularly with calibers as common as these two. CB

How about just buying a complete upper in 308? DPMS upper on gunbroker right now for $570. Them you've still got your 243 and a 308.
