Might throw up a big piece of cardboard and see what kind of pattern you get, but I'm guessing it should. I've never shot #4 buckshot out of that tight a tube. Heck, you might chunk a slug at that dog for kicks!

Give the 4 buck a go. Heck, @50 yrds i bet lead BB might even do the trick. Back in the days before steel shot , big geese shot with lead #2 would have pellets penetrate the chest cavity through heavy feathers and 3-4" of meat at 50 yrds.

Just an FYI

From the Oklahoma hunting regulations:

Shotgun Pellet Size
No person in the field may possess or attempt to harvest any wildlife, except waterfowl and crane, with a shotgun using shot larger than conventional BB (.180 in. diameter). Hogs are not considered wild- life; see page 35 for shotgun provisions for hogs.

Ever tought about purchasing a fairly inexpensive rifle? Might not be alot more $ than modifing your shotgun and more effective at a longer range. Just thinking.
I'm pretty sure he has rifles; he's just using the scattergun because there are neighbors in rifle range in that direction.
