I agree with all the above. You are right to have involved LE from the beginning, and it looks like you may have prevailed without having fired a shot. Good job!

My wife and i have a pit and a pug. The pit is gentle - no problem. I love animals, especially dogs. Unfortunately, dumbass people who are inconsiderate enough to allow their animals to intimidate and harass others should be dealt with accordingly. The dogs are worth saving. The law can't act until you are a victim. Then it's to late.

If you know any of the deputies, invite them over for dinner and let them open the gate to enter the property. Then they can see first hand the attack and may even solve the problem.

Well, we have 3 dogs; two dachshunds and a German Shepherd mix.

My sweet, dumb little dachshund thinks he can go toe to toe with a pit bull. He's eight pounds of pure fireball.

So, we go to the post office just now, and I open the gate. The dark dog tries to sneak up on me but there is water in front of him.

He makes an advance, sees the Alaskan, and backs into an unfavorable target position. To take a shot from this position would be totally irresponsible. He joins his mates, and they are all barking. Am notifying the Sheriff''s dept to have this put on the record.
