The AP article in post #248 milks Barr's statement (or tiny portion thereof) to support their point of view. If I understand the situation correctly, Barr's frame of reference is criminal prosecution. The standard of evidence for criminal prosecution is considerably higher than in a civil case...."beyond the shadow of a doubt" versus "the preponderance of the evidence".
I wonder as state legislatures consider whether or not to certify the results of their elections if perhaps their reasonable standard of proof will be somewhat lower than even a civil case.

of course it's lower for the politicians, that is why trump is going this route instead of pushing the courts harder. The people listening to the so-called evidence want to believe it.

And, if the bar is lower for a civil case, why has trump not won any really?

Perhaps you could elaborate, but your response has zero to do with what I posted and you quoted.

You said "Because the machines will not be released to be examined because the dims are afraid of what may be found within the software/firmware.
The liberal media keeps screaming mindlessly that these are the most transparent and fair elections in HISTORY!
Why then do they not allow the opposition to examine those machines to prove that "transparency" exists? Why are they fighting that and wanting to wipe the machines? Don't give me the BS about needing them for another election either."

I responded that i am not a member of the Georgia SoS office so i do not know what reasons they might have for withholding the information and that you should ask them. However you've already stated you clearly wont believe what they say, so i guess it wouldn't matter.

And i also said that it's not just 'the media' claiming it was fair, but also officials that Trump appointed. We're being asked to believe in a conspiracy so vast as to now include multiple countries, dead dictators, corrupt governors, dangerous big corporations, etc, yet when someone who trump appointed counters that we are to dismiss them and not also take into account what they are saying?

I try to imagine being one of the election workers who came forward and swore under penalty of perjury that they saw voter fraud, and knowing many others have too, possibly putting their jobs and personal lives at risk, and being told it doesn't matter, your testimony isn't enough for us to do anything about it.

I feel pretty hopeless for our country, I imagine they feel it at a whole other level.

Wait until you read about the threats of sexualized violence and death being made against the Georgia SoS and his wife, of the AZ Sos, or georgia election officials.

Are we playing topper? Playing for points?

I identify more with the ones I perceive to be trying to expose fraud and act honorably, so that's where I was coming from.

If you identify more with those on the other side, that's great.

I have no doubt despicable things happen from both sides.

Reason we have corruption ...no punishment to deter...Bring back tar and feathering...public hangings ..then running the entire family out of town, carrying nothing but fleeing a raging mob from the corrupt kin....the inkling are just as rotten..

Yes and no, of course they're wrong. Don't try to make an argument out of this.
This state of affairs just sucks for all of us. The divide just keeps getting bigger and no good can come from it.

I absolutely agree. It's bad, but not one-sided. Lots of people are putting themselves out there and could see repercussions from it, all for doing or saying what they thought was right.

Dennis, you're kind of getting your poll watcher non-facts in Pennsylvania mixed-up with your poll watcher non facts in Georgia all mixed-up

That’s kind of how it goes. Debunk or disprove a claim and they pivot to something else or some other state.

So much pivoting going on that it’s turning into a game of twister and they have confused themselves lol.

Russian collusion and claims of quid pro quo were fake news and impossible conspiracies but this fantasy of a dead-Chavez led cabal involving China, Russia, Iran, the CIA, Republican officials, election officials, thousands of poll workers in individual precincts, secret server farms, judges at multiple levels of the judiciary, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and Trump’s own Attorney General, and MILLIONS of illegal ballots is completely credible.

Got it.

Don't forget, that all of that has become so clear that they are fine presenting it to the public and lawmakers, but very little has been formally presented in court 'because these things take time to find' (save for the stuff that has been presented, and shot down, of course).
