A few years ago I read an interview with Robert Duval. He said he was originally cast as Capt. Call. After reading the script his wife told him he had to be Gus. He got the change made and the rest is history. Anyone notice my OSA avatar?

We watched a documentary last night which was more of a movie on the imdb streaming app about the Lonesome Dove Church which is still operating in McKinney Texas. In 1846, a large wagon train full of people left Platt County, Missouri to make a new life in the Republic of Texas. This group of pioneers settled in the "Crosstimbers" area, now known as Grapevine-Southlake. The pioneers began to meet in different homes for worship as many more settlers continued to pour into the area. On the third Saturday of February, 1846, a growing group of Christ followers met at the log cabin home of Charles Throop. There they formed the Lonesome Dove Baptist Church. I enjoy history, especially western history.
