Here, but occasionally There.
I was raised in that area, and I still have a sister and brother-in-law and their son and his wife there in Keyes. I've spent a lot of time in the Kenton area, but I had never heard (or at least don't recall hearing about) the caves.

That doesn't mean a lot because even though a Japanese Internment Camp was located 125 miles north of Keyes, I'd never heard of it, even though Keyes had a number of WWII veterans.

According to the article, three mummified humans were found at the caves in 1933. I found this excerpt to be rather bizarre:

The three mummies were divided among the principle [sic] finders. The mummified child was kept for a time under a bed at J. R. Butler's home, in John Tharp's garage, in Pard Collins' house, and even hung on the back of an upstairs door at the Kenton Hotel before being donated to the No Man's Land Museum (Hollis 1979). For over 15 years the mummified woman was kept in the attic storage area at the Kenton Hotel before being moved to a "museum" in Brownie Collins' house at Kenton. During the 1950s, Willis Stovall allegedly took the adult mummies; however, there is no trace of them at the University of Oklahoma.

yeah I remember as a kid hearing that the museum in Goodwell has the mummified child. I heard it’s not on display. To be completely honest I haven’t actually been to the museum even though it’s 10 miles from me and I’ve lived here my entire life.

Typical treatment of artifacts during the period described. Non-educated locals and long-distance communication still being primitive, cooperation with science was nonexistant. It was the depression and if you could make a buck, you would.
