.25-06 is an amazing cartridge. My 19 yo grandson loves his Savage.
Too many young uns hung up on "the latest and greatest" media hype. But, but, it is a "long action". I have long and short actions, in the field, can't tell a difference. Short action has ounces of advantage, IF you are building compact, lightweight. Cartridges, the longer wins.
There is a reason some cartridges are still popular after 100 years.
I have no use for the 6.5 CM, give me a .25-06, .30-06, 6.5x55, or .30-30.
Ha! 2 grandsons favorite cartridge is 7.62x54R. I don't know anyone with a CM.
