Was hoping to get to the southeast part of the state Monday or Tuesday. Curious if the leaves have already dropped or if they're still lots of color?

Report
Foliage Update 11-09-2017 - The fall foliage season has reached its stunning peak along the Talimena National Scenic Byway. While driving along US Hwy 271 toward Talimena State Park, visitors can see full displays of fall on the trees. Strong winds have knocked off some of the leaves, but visitors can still view a stunning, traditional mix of yellow, orange and red leaves from the Panorama Vista. At Lake Wister State Park, the trees are currently at their peak, displaying the full spectrum of colors, although leaves are rapidly falling off the trees. At Ouachita National Park, the leaf transition has surpassed its peak, although fog in the area has obscured the remaining yellows, oranges and reds. Leaves along the Talimena National Scenic Byway are predicted to fade to brown and drop after this weekend.

Last weekend was perfect as far as foliage BUT I drove in about zero visibility all the way across the mountains. The lodge was so bad you couldn't see it until you were 50' from it. The little I did see on the way to Talihina was great.

A good friend that lives down there texted me last Sunday. He said optimum foliage was about 10 days out. If he's correct, early this week would be nice.

Here, but occasionally There.
We made the trip up towards Springdale, Arkansas and then south to Mena before crossing the Talimena drive back in 2008. Got some good shots up north, but on the Talimena part, the colors weren't as good. We took Hwy 412 across from Tulsa and checked out Natural Falls State Park before going on to Springdale and heading down Highway 71 in Arkansas.

Just spent a week in the Ozarks of Missouri getting home tonight. Their foliage just went brown. They have been in a drought cycle there.
The locals were even disappointed at the lack of color.
