To each there own. I typically could care less if someone knows my name, however in these strange times it could become a liability. One thing I have learned is there are A LOT of crazies on the interwebs.
I haven't found anywhere to use an acronym for your name, unless you create your account using that instead of your real name. Everything I've done has been through the website. I haven't tried their app yet. The website is a little buggy, and it took some time to figure out how to follow the timeline of the threads. I had to change the way it displayed, because mine would always put the newest comments at the top of the page, but I wanted to newest threads to show first. Just play around with it. Also, there is a 'main' page and and a separate 'chat' page for each group. Most chat pages for each group are more active than the main pages, just FYI.

It's not MeWe. Or FB, any of the others. It's social media in general. I joined LinkedIn because my company made me, but they can't make me post or maintain it. I refuse.
Forums are technically SM, but I've never considered them to be equal to the faceplace, mybook, or tweeters. I'm probably wrong, it really is SM, but it's a different kind of social media.
I’ve been on MeWe for a couple of weeks and like it so far. Going to get rid of Facebook. I like the freedom of MeWe and don’t care for Facebook’s censorship. They can do what they want to but so can I.
Easy to hate them.
They have very bias censors.
A liberal can call a conservative a “racist POS” and nothing happens. But if a person who is conservative calls a liberal the same, they get a warning or a restriction.
I posted the meme of Harris blowing the "J" on the Joe Biden sign and got 30 days.
Last month, I replied to someone who was anti-gun that the bans in Australia and New Zealand have not worked as well as the press is selling them. She said I was “delusional” and “on serious drugs”. I replied that if she takes a bump of Midol and tries to do some honest research ... and I got a 30 days for "bullying" by their “community standards”.
Prior to that, I posted the attached picture. This violated their community standards for “nudity and sexual activity” and got 30 days. Makes me think their censors have done time in a Turkish prison.
Last night, a friend of my wife’s replied to a silly meme about “what would it take for you to get in a van” and she replied, “If they have 9mm ammo!” and she got her account restricted.
Yeah ... it’s easy to hate them.
Why cannot I not find any of those groups? Search comes up blank
