That's some nice looking wood on the original stock. 10/22s are just hard to beat.
That's what I was thinking. It's definitely not your average 10-22 wood. I wouldn't mine having one that looked like that.

Trust me the wood stock has been put in a safe place. Barrel is a Tactical Solutions 16.5" Ruger 10/22 Barrel with a threaded end with compensator. The 10/22 is from 1980. I am going to keep everything to be able to go back to stock. Just having fun for now.

There is a small but growing group of Ruger collectors that go after those type of stocks with the pretty wood. Ruger doesn't really do custom stock work, its just what ever peice of wood they have on hand at the time. So sometimes you get "plain jane", and othertimes its "custom". I have a friend in Maine who is one of those, an some of his rifles will cause you to drool uncontrolably.
What kind of optics do you have on there?

The optic is a Bushnell 4-12X40. Trigger work is the next thing for this 10/22. Looking at Volquartsen for upper and lower work myself.
