Well I knew I got some of those from a nice lady here along with 125 SP
So I went and loaded up some .308 and 30-06 cases with IMR4064 and 110 SP and will try and get out to send them
down range soon.
If they are 2 MOA at 100 I will be happy and that should put a a nice hole in a critter.
I have some coon traps set on a buddies place that will get checked tomorrow.
I will shoot at 100 yards and 50 yards
Speaking of smaller bullet weights in the 30-06, they've been discontinued for several years but I remember the Remington Accelerator 55 gr. 30-06 and 30-30 ammo......never shot any but I bet them puppies were screaming downrange.

You can still buy the components to build your own Accelerators at home. I have some of the sabots. Might try some 55 grain in the 30-30 lever gun.

I was running late yesterday and in the rush I forgot my chronograph.
I did get some rounds on paper and I will say there is potential.
100 yards for all shots.

30-06 did best but I had made some with different seating depths and found the bullet did not like to be seated long.
There is not much bearing surface on these 110 and 125 bullets and not much space left in a .308 case
after charging it with IMR4064.
I used Winchester cases and one of them had the powder .030" below the mouth.
I weighed that case vs the other ones and there was 30 grain difference in case weight!

I did not use that case.
4064 was just starting to get into the neck of the .308 if that tells you anything.
30-06 was way up there also :)

30-06 125 gr tore a large hole that measured .685" outside to outside with tight neck tension.
3 shots. Seated deeper 3.122" OAL.

I tried .001" neck tension in 30-06 and that was a fail 2.4" 3 shot... triangle shaped group.

I got 1.050" group with the 110 and tight neck tension .004" seated to 3.115" OAL.
That was a 3 shot with 1 federal case and 2 remington cases.
Adjusted scope to get it into the bullseye and shot 2 more of that 110 gr that 2 shot group was .217" sideways figure 8 just .8" left of bullseye.
Good enough for shooting so I let my buddy head into the woods with that 30-06 with instructions to hit in the side through rib and hit the heart if he can.

No neck shots yet with this 110 from the 30-06.

He actually shot one!
Busted ribs going in and then took the top of the heart off (mangled) took out a lung
then busted through ribs of the other side.

That was the 110 gr and I bet it is in the 3300 fps area. 70 yard shot.

I wanted to see if it would hold together at high velocity and it did seem to.
Deer is hanging and will be skinned today for more results.

Heart is still edible.
Deer crouched and ran low to the ground for 35-40 yards and then piled up.

This load is for modern bolt action 30-06 rifles and kicks quite hard as did the 125 gr load.
You can get scope eye from this.
Rifle is Mossberg 100ATR 22" barrel.

The .308 I only made 1 load which was 110gr with IMR4064 1.5" 4 shot group, one of the shots
opened the group from a .680" 3 shot group.
It is what it is.

I do have some more and when I get time I will send some over a chrony.
And I will be making more of these as I kind of like them 110 gr so far.

With all the rounds shot from the 30-06 loose cases and tight ones and 110 and 125 bullets the entire group measured 2.6" or 1.3" for tight ones only.

So the 125 and 110 are going in the same vicinity.

My 110 and 125 gr bullets will be here Saturday, so I’ll start down this path next week. I’m planning to come back up the weekend of the 10th and am hoping to try whatever load I come up with on a coyote. I’m planning to break out the FoxPro this time.

As a slight OT for this discussion, I loaded up some 180 gr Midway blem SST’s for my 308 combo gun yesterday with 3031 powder, and the load shows real promise. The wind was blowing, so I just tried it at 50 yards and will be testing it at 100. The 50 gr group was about an inch which is plenty good for east TX deer and pig hunting accuracy.

I picked some 125 gr powder coated and 110 gr V-MAX. Originally picked them up for .30 Carbine Blackhawk. It doesn't like the 125 gr. Put them in .30-30 and .30-06. SUCCESS! Both shoot 1" @ 50 yards and are great deer rounds. Both rounds loaded to 2500 fps. Which puts them at mid .25-06 and very mild.
10 yo grandson took a deer @100 yards, through both shoulders, DRT.

The 110 V-Max in .30-06 were loaded to screaming, 3500 fps. Coyote @200 yards had a small hole through a rib, just behind shoulder and inside was mush.
Jumped straight up, yelped, ran in mid air a few steps, piled up on ground.

.30-30 is getting 3000 fps. Shoots 1 1/2" @100. Haven't put it on game. 1900 - 2500 fps SHOULD make it a nice expanding Ballistic Tip. I hope, anyway.

Hoping the slower velocity will make a good .30 Carbine hog round.

i used to use 110 grain in 300 winmag many years ago. had to watch the velocity because it caused problems down range when the bullet became subsonic. actually ended up with better results from a heavier longer bullet.

Played around with 110 gr in 30.06 back in 80's with a Browning Safari grade. My notes show 55.0 gr of IMR 4350 Speer 110 gr HP Neck Sized Seated to 2.950 two 4 shot 100 yd groups .520 and .582 then two 5 shot groups 1.154 and 1.381 Note says shot in med crosswind approx 10-15 mph. Drifted bad at 200. Another load was 110 Sierra HP with 57.4 gr. IMR 4350 Seat 3.100 Two 100 yd 3 shot groups at ,.382 and .377 with a ten shot group at 1.471. Next session of shooting the 110 gr Sierra HP it went .4 for 3 shots and .6 for 5 shots. Was a very accurate fun load to shoot prairie dogs with.

Found the bullet the lead and copper jacket touching each other was in the off side wedged in the front leg ball and socket area where the leg pivots.
55gr retained weight if you call it that when it is 2 pieces.

If these little bullets are supposed to come apart at high velocity when you hit bone this little one did not get the message.
Makes me think if you did not hit bone you might get a pass through little hole in little hole out.

I will need to do some testing on that.
