Awesome on her! Glad she was able to repel the intruder. This could've turned out very bad had she not done so.

The intruder was previously accused of kidnapping a mentally handicapped girl.

Anyone know whether he was intentionally targeting the girl?

Exactly. But since it happened, better she suffer this stress than the stress of being raped and/or murdered.

Kudos to her parents for teaching her how to protect herself.

News on 6 had a short interview tonight,(should be on their website) she seemed to be very "matter-of-fact" for a 12yr.old. She said mom made a bigger deal of it than she did, but that makes sense.
