My SA 1911 plunger tube popped off today when I took the grip panel off. First time I ever took the grips off and I guess the grip panel was holding it on.

Is it okay to JB WELD it back on instead of sending it to SA or a gunsmith so they can re-stake it for a new one? :anyone:

what you need to do is this, (NO JB WELD) NO, BAD GUN OWNER, BAD HAHAHA :) J/K

chamfer the holes on both the outside and inside of the frame, the tenons need room to expand when staked, put some red thread lock on the tenons and you shouldn't have a problem. also I would recommend putting something inside the plunger tube to keep it from collapsing when you give it the squeeze, I use a small piece of 01 drill rod I turned down in the lathe, but i think they sell them pre-made. (check brownells)
