Traded for a S&W Triple Lock in .455 Webley last year. Made for the British in 1916 for the war effort. I was taken by it.
Took the gun and test fired it. Accurate...not.
So I had a family member confident in gun repairs look at it. He found a dent in the barrel in front of the ejector rod lockup.
Didn't want to spend several hundred dollars on a replacement or have to pay for dent removal, for I decided to shorten the barrel.
Barrel is now around 3 3/8 inch. And to keep cost down, I opted to mount a Bradley Shotgun Bead.
Pistol chambers the Colt .45 (long). Worked out well, because I've always wanted a shorter bbl N frame for conceal carry. I'm happy with the finished product.
