This legislation will never fly. Believe it or not there are just as many Dems as Repubs that own and love their guns. This may actually serve to bring the 2 parties together rather than us remaining divided. That is what we should be working on and hoping for. Its the women who want this gun control, not the parties, neither of them.
The US is a gun culture and always has been. That cant be undone.

CHenry I agree with you 100%. I think there is a lot of panic out there right now, and an equal amount of paranoia has set in. Too many legislators are on OUR side. I don't believe this will ever becoming a reality. I may be wrong, BUT I am leaning toward the logical instead of panic. NOT trying to start an arguement here guys. Just stating my opinion.

I think that Sen. Fienstein is shooting for the moon with her draconion plan hoping to "compromise" on some restrictions and get something passed. The problem we are going to have are the hunters and shotgunners who agree with the anti's that we do not "need" these types of "assault" waepons. When their precious guns are are added to the list, maybe then we can stand together.

The facts are, only 4% of the gun deaths occur with a rifle of any type. Probably 2% of those are law enforcement shooting bad guys with their dept. issued AR. So they are going after the 2%? 96% of gun deaths are done with a pistol.
You have to ask yourselves what their real motive is here.

I also ran into this with family members that are voracious hunters. They pretty much are ok with the guns of the 50s and 60s. Winchesters, six guns, 8-10 shot semi auto pistols. I explained the same facts about so-called "assault rifles" and some seemed to get and some did not. It's sad.
