2020 Dove Season

Milo and cut milo around, not many birds seen this afternoon.

Opening morning has a 70% chance of my mom. Some might enjoy that.

Most of the land I have access to has been sprayed. Birds disappeared.

I saw birds in groups of 10 to 20 flying south all day here on the Kansas line in NW Osage County. A lot more birds on recently cut crab grass meadows and graveling in county roads than i have seen in previous weeks. Possibly birds moving in from the north or the local population is feeding and gathering up for a big exit ahead of the front coming in.

I mean all of them

Probably 5-10,000 one weekend, zero the next, no kidding

We'll still hunt, but we don't expect to kill anything and might not pull a trigger

A soaking wet milo field beats the crap out of being in the office so off I go. Hopefully there will be a few breaks in the rain.

Napping in the truck is ALSO one of those things that is better than being in the office...

The rain is a bit of a problem with the flyways though. The dove don't have to fly between feeding grounds and water. They can just side step and drink all they want.
