2022 Deer Pics/Chatter/Excuses

I‘ve made a decision to target what I consider a buck with inferior rack genetics (I don’t like the term cull buck that gets thrown around a lot), and ironically, I could’ve killed him on October 1st at 25 yards and gave him a pass. I haven’t seen him again from any stand, but I’m still getting pictures of him regularly. I’m pretty sure he’s a buck that showed up last year during the first week of rifle season, and I videoed him and passed him then too.
I’ve had a bunch of pictures of him, but here’s one of the better ones from Friday. He’s a big old boy.
Edit to add. I’m a trophy hunter, so if a really big buck I’ve never seen before happens to stumble in front of me, the buck pictured will get another pass.

66315 checked in after the first weekend of rifle last year on this day. Crazy how close those numbers are.

Noble County:
November 20, 2022.
Sunny. 10-15 mph South winds. BEAUTIFUL day
NO chasing. Tiny bit of seeking (1 small 6 ptr).

We accidently chased deer (3 does) off small part of property while entering wheat field @ 2:30 pm. They were back on the wheat at 3:04. Two of them laying in the shade of trees for quite a while. The other one grazing. Small 6 ptr came out slowly, sniffed 2 of the does. That doe moved about 15 yds and that was it for the little fellow. He went back from where he came. He was in no hurry coming or going. I have never seen the does stay on the wheat that long (+2.5 hours).

From 5:15 -> 5:40. Total of 5 deer in the field in front of me and 1 behind me (sneaky bi**h!).

A friend hunted another wheat field separated by 200 yds and a creek. He, also, saw 3 does, 2 coyotes + pup and 30 Angus. 0 bucks.

I heard 1 shot fired @ 4:00 - 1 mile away? I think that was the only gun shot that I heard.

I wish I had a few cameras and feeders stationed, but I don't have the money or help for the chores any longer.

At least 5 dead on I-35 Northbound between Frontier City and Perry.
