2022 Deer Pics/Chatter/Excuses

Nothing moving at the stand I’m in this morning. Probably hang in here until 11am and call it a day.
There were deer moving at my other stands according to cell cams but nothing at this one.

Well, I ended the morning with 14 does and 7 bucks. I still have one other non cell cam to check, but so far, it ain’t looking good for the big 8.

We were on our way home and seen a doe following a buck not sure what is going on. Had a 4 point chase some young does by me but haven’t seen a mature buck yet

One of the guys on the lease shot this deer this morning. I think he rushed the shot as it was quartering to him. They had good blood but found corn in the trail. The trail cross crossed itself multiple times but they don’t think he left the property. I told them to back out but I think it’s to late.

Nice looking buck. Man, I am pretty new to hunting in general, this will hopefully be my first year I shoot a deer, but I had never thought of the tailgate trick with getting an animal in the truck. Genius.

This evening was SLOW compared to yesterday evening and this morning, but I still saw 5 does, one buck, and a dead coyote. I misjudged the wind speed and chill, and I didn’t dress appropriately.

I sit where I could glass in 3 directions for a long long way. Deer feeding and chasing both, well over 100 deer this evening. No bucks even remotely big enough to go after though.

My brother, his wife, son and grandson are down at my ranch in hughes county....the grandson just started hunting this year (10 years old) and took his first deer a few weeks back on youth rifle weekend....he now has the hunting bug and took his 2nd buck yesterday on opening day.....I'm posting two pics of he and his dad....I'm also posting a pic of a buck that my brothers youngest son took at his ranch in Lincoln county (its the pic of the buck in the bed of a white dodge pickup).....the family sure does bring home the meat.....
