That’s about how my last few times out went!

Saturday was great movement. Sunday was about half the movement of Saturday. Monday and Tuesday nose dived with hardly anything moving.

Saturday night, 1 minute before end of light, i heard movement 30 yards away, moving diagonal. 1 minute after shooting light, a big deer steps out at 50. He looks at me, sitting on a stool against some brush with my gun on a bog pod, and gets dumb. He walks straight at me to 30 yards, his rack getting bigger with each step. This guy had to be 160"+ and 2 minutes after shooting light, i was stuck watching him. He blew twice, bounded a couple times, blew 3 times and bounded a bit more before walking off. It hurt, a lot. He never hit any camera or showed back up.

I shot a small 7 point buck with my 6.5 Grendel build. 120gr Nosler Ballistic tip ammo works good.

I questioned my sanity multiple times in that minute or so. Trading ethics for a kill is a slippery slope that i don't want to toe. If it's meant to be, it'll happen. Plenty of season left and I've already got a buck to be proud of.

We are covered up in spikes and fork horns and they won’t leave lol SIL had a 6 point in his sights that had probably 18” mainbeams and was waiting on my daughter to sneak up there to shoot him and he got away

Some nice deer posted in here so far! Ive seen a slew of younger bucks but I've let em all live. These are my two casualties from opening weekend.
