Full frontal shot on a buck? Would or have you taken it? Where exactly to aim? This is the 2nd time in the last two seasons I’ve had big buck only give me this shot, then slip out. Archery hunting happens fast and I’ve been in a tight ground blind. Also I’ve never killed a buck before…well never recovered the one I shot with a rifle and don’t wanna go through all that again. I do plan on moving my blind and had a tree stand gave to me. Just need to go get and set up.

Frontal shot with archery tackle is a no go for me, but I’ll take a frontal shot with a muzzleloader or rifle any day and drop them like a hot rock.

Frontal shot with archery is a hard no for me too. Assuming it’s happening in the same place every time, you could place something in their path that would divert them to a better angle for you. Or put some food or mineral on the ground to make them stick around a little longer and maybe give you a shot. Mock scrape could work too. Or just reposition your blind. Losing one sucks though. Sorry that happened. Hopefully one gets right for you soon

Because of the areas I hunt, and since bedding and cover areas are limited in the middle of ag, I know where they're going to go if I don't push them after a shot, so it's a yes for me 99% of the time. If I were hunting hundreds of acres of standing crops, timber, or hip high native grass, then no way.
