My favorite was always the Winchester 250gr Partition Gold, but sadly it’s been discontinued. I’d say whatever you can find loaded with a Speer Gold Dot or Barnes XPB bullet would be a great choice.
I used that round on a couple of hogs years ago with good results. Especially since I was not hog hunting.
I have the Ruger carbine in .44 mag. Killed a couple deer with 240 grain Hornady XTP. Complete pass through double lung. Didn’t run far.
anything in 44 mag work for deer. heck dirty harry says it'll blow yr head clean off!
So far that has been a leading contender.
I've always had great results with Hornady 240 gr xtp in my muzzleloader and would probably pick it for 44mag. I don't know what the ballistics are in my muzzleloader with 70 gr pyrodex pistol powder with the 44 cal Hornady 240gr xtp in a sabot with 209 primer out of a Thompson encore. But it goes clean through deer at 100 yards.
