For a plinker, or as an intro to the platform, I'd say thats a heck of a deal. Might be a good platform for upgrades in the future. I'm a fan of the poly lowers for occasional users. We have two and enjoy them both immensely. I bet we have 2,000 rounds through each of them without so much as a hiccup from the poly lower, even after repeated cleanings and 'toying' with things like triggers and the like.

Shoot, at that price, you could pick up one of these forged receivers to swap out the receiver with when the poly one breaks, and still come out ahead:

Ya, this option is most likely more convenient for those local to OKC. Both good deals of course. I figured everyone already knew about FBT's deals.

I see no need to get a forged lower, unless your going to get another upper...but then why buy one in the first place.

It's just a cheap rifle. Probably a great start for beginners.
