First off, he was robbing a place WITH A GUN...Seems he made many bad choices in life and his last one being just as bad.

Now the chats of how ...good he was....or rather IS as a money making tool for people that never cared about him. The criminal more then likely led a entire life of crime till prison, other gangs, or a armed store clerk punched his ticket.

If....I'm on that jury. The family gets billed for the bullets....case closed.

Enough BS. Every OKCPD officer should have have blue flu until this is stopped. You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with OKC low life POS these guys put their lives on the line daily to deal with. This punk got exactly what he deserved and the world is a better place without him. So he was only 15? Probably saved someone’s life and untold thousands of dollars of future incarceration costs.

One less thug, and less police to boot? I see no downside here.

The fact that the kid reached toward his back pocket according to the video indicates that he "may" have been reaching for. weapon and the police acted accordingly. He failed to follow instructions/orders and we know the end result. The cops will probably lose their jobs but not be charged based on the video. But they'll suffer stress, loss of money for attorney fees and their families will suffer-all because of some wayward teenager who wanted something for nothing. And now his crime buddy will face murder charges all because of stupidity. That's my opinion.
5 officers were charged. It should be remembered when the DA position comes back up for election.

looks like big city DA's are passing the buck here and letting the courts and local juries take the heat. They'll get off.
horrible time to be a cop. We need to have some resource for them to get out of law enforcement and into another line of work while still being able to support their families. let the savages police themselves

He wont rerun. He allegedly has cancer and is terminally ill. He was given the option of stepping down, and picking his replacement from a pool of 3 and he refused. This is what I have heard from some officers.

This the 2nd time this DA has done this in the last month or so. I bet we see a mass exit of officers very soon if this keeps going.

The Manslaughter charge is a BS cop out by Prater though. Either they get charged with Murder 2 or nothing at all.

It's already happening. Several have started the process, one is even rolling back from Plan B to the original retirement plan. Ones wife is going to work full time so he can quit, a few have without even getting their 10 years (minimum required to get pension). Another's just got her realtor license, so I expect her to any day now, although her husband will probably stay on.

I've heard a lot of the same stories. I have some good friends with OCPD that are relocating that I would have never in a million years thought they would leave.

I work in Pub Safety Communication Support, my main "customers" are PD and FD. We get their radios returned when they quit or retire. 3 this week, although 2 were only in the Academy. Probably half my facebook friends are cops, and all I hear is stories like we mentioned. They all support the officers in both cases. I know at least 1 in the first case, and 2 in this most recent one.
