It's already happening. Several have started the process, one is even rolling back from Plan B to the original retirement plan. Ones wife is going to work full time so he can quit, a few have without even getting their 10 years (minimum required to get pension). Another's just got her realtor license, so I expect her to any day now, although her husband will probably stay on.

I know several in the upper echelons as well, no longer on the street, that are considering retirement as well. Just because they are tired of having people, both police and non police, not back them up or stand up for them, when they are forced to make decisions like these 5 officers had to make.

It'll take the department years if not decades to recover. I've heard that some that think Holman will get off, and that the 5 will be pressed to take plea deals for Man 2, which is a misdemeanor, with the condition they leave the dept. Speculation is thats why he charged with Man 1 (felony) and the option to drop to Man 2.

This makes the most sense.

One stupid ***** that doesn't follow orders which makes you LEGALLY in fear of your life which ALLOWS you LEGALLY to make the decision to go home after the end of shift will POLITICALLY ruin your life.

I hope they all ride it out to a not guilty verdict

The fact that the kid reached toward his back pocket according to the video indicates that he "may" have been reaching for. weapon and the police acted accordingly. He failed to follow instructions/orders and we know the end result. The cops will probably lose their jobs but not be charged based on the video. But they'll suffer stress, loss of money for attorney fees and their families will suffer-all because of some wayward teenager who wanted something for nothing. And now his crime buddy will face murder charges all because of stupidity. That's my opinion.
Those suffering PTSD and Depression because of this BS trial should sue the family.
Doesn't the OKC police union cover the legal expenses? I don't know. Just asking.

Sad, truly sad. There is another aspect to this. They could be charged and found not guilty thus putting an end to any further prosecution. Case closed.
There is that possibility and hope it turns out that way. I would be scared shatless though taking that route.
Listening to tonight's news, the prosecutors case is getting weak.

The video reveals a **** show of multiple people shouting commands and doesn't reveal if the officer who reportedly fired less-lethal first (not charged) made any announcement that she was doing so. Seems like the less lethal touched off a barrage of sympathetic fire.

Takes some firm conviction to be a cop these days for sure and I hate it when the media fixates on the number of rounds fired.
