6.5 creedmoor

I built a 6.5 SAUM last year and it is amazing at shooting stuff.

That was one sweet rifle.
First shot in a cross wind about 6" to the left.
Next two made the steel swing. Gets no better than that.

A 155gr .308 generally isn't the bullet of choice for long range shooting for this chambering. The majority use 168 or 175gr with the 175gr being the better choice in my opinion.

155's have done quite well in the 1000yd F-class rifles.

You are absolutely correct. The 155gr bullet has done quite well in F-Class.

I was referring to the average 308 shooters that visit this site. I doubt they are shooting 28-30” barrels pushing 155/155.5gr bullets at 2850-3000fps.

Maybe its a silly question, but why would you get a 6.5 Creedmore over a .260? after all .260 brass can be made from .308 brass, which guarantees available inexpensve brass, and that all it takes to convert an ar-10 is a barrel.. and as t othe Grendel- to say it will stay supersonic farther than the .308 is hard to believe, last I checked they were both the same BC at the same velocity (.505@2600).. so maybe you can cherry pick the data and say one is a better trajectory, but its very close.. or maybe there is a new more efficient bullet I'm not aware of for 6.5.. (but then the palma 155 bullet for .308 is I believe .5 bc at 155gr, which can be pushed to 2800..)
